Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty, also known as a “tummy tuck,” is an operation designed to remove excess fat and skin of the lower abdomen and tighten the underlying muscles.  The result is a toned, flat stomach that cannot be achieved by exercise or diet or liposuction alone.  It has many beneficial effects including improved posture.  Sometimes it is combined with liposuction to remove excess fat of the upper abdomen and hips and further improve the final contour.  The transformation is often dramatic, and combined with improved diet and exercise, can truly change your life.

Liposuction

Liposuction is a procedure used to remove an area of excess fat that is often resistent to diet and exercise.  If you have stubborn areas of fat that refuse to go away no matter how much you exercise, then you may want to consider this procedure to improve your shape.  After infiltration of a solution to anesthetize the area, small metal tubes or cannulas are used to extract the fat into a suction device.  This effect can be enhanced by using an ultrasound probe first to dissolve the fat and stimulate tightening of the skin.  In this way the surgeon is able to sculpt and better define your shape.
